BSOG PG FORUM

BSOG PG Forum is a wing of BSOG committed to Postgraduate learning. The Forum has picked up momentum from 2010 when it was started for providing a teaching curriculum for DNB post graduates. It now attracts post graduate students of OBG from all Institutions and has evolved into a vibrant platform for postgraduate learning. Incorporating all modalities of teaching including Discussion on answering Theory questions, Skill transfer, Case Discussions, Panel Discussions, Quiz, Didactic talks by experts, the PG Forum promotes comprehensive learning. The monthly programs with the Theory questions are put up on the “Next Program” section on this website. Students are expected to bring the written answers when they come for the session. The session starts with Transfer of skills pertaining to the topic of the day. Two Case Discussions interspersed with Model answers for Theory Questions are followed by Panel Discussion, Quiz or Talks by experts.

BSOG PG Forum Programme

The monthly meeting of BSOG PG Forum was held on Saturday, 3rd October, 2020. It was hosted by Shri Bhagwan Mahavir Jain Hospital.

Dr. Thejavathy, President, BSOG welcomed the students and the teachers and emphasised the need for such discussions on a web platform under the current COVID situation.

The program started at 3.00pm with a case discussion on IUGR. The students who presented the case were Drs. Ragini and Farheen. Dr. Prakash Mehta and Dr. Tarakeshwari were the experts who guided the case discussion. The causes, the types of IUGR, the differentiation between early onset and late onset, the management of both was very well delineated.

Next, Dr. Susheela Rani presented the model answers for Theory questions. The questions were on Premature Ovarian Insufficiency, Fetal Inflammatory response syndrome and COVID 19 infection in Pregnancy.

Dr. Supriya Seshadri gave a wonderful talk on Dopplers in the first trimester. The vessels that were insonated, the significance of the Doppler findings and their clinical relevance to subsequent growth and development of the fetus and the development of Pre-eclampsia in the mother were very well brought out.
