click here for detailsBangalore Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology conducted a clinical webinar on 19th February 2021 at 3 pm onwards.
Dr. Thejavathy, President, BSOG invited the chairpersons. Senior faculty and ex president, BSOG, Dr. Mohini Prasad and Dr. Indukala S, senior Obstetrician at Malathi Manipal hospital had chaired the session of the said event.
Speakers were Dr. Vijayakumar C. R and Dr. Sundari . N.
The two talks were “ UTI in women- case study and disease management” and “ Nuances of antibiotics in Gynecological surgeries “ respectively.
Dr. Thejavathy conducted the Q and A interaction session. There were many questions which were satisfactorily answered by the speakers. The symposium concluded by Dr. Rekha Rajendrakumar delivering the vote of thanks.
Strength of attendees for the said event was about 100.
The program was sponsored by GSK pharmaceuticals.
BSOG-FOGSI-SAFOG-FIGO CONFERENCE - 06 Feb 2021
A live webinar was organized by Bangalore Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology on 06/02/ 2021 between 3 pm – 4 pm. The symposium was on Dydrogesterone. The clinical event was sponsored by Emcure pharma.
Dr. Thejavathy, President, BSOG, welcomed the audience.
Chairpersons for the webinar were two senior BSOG members, Dr. Sunanda Kulkarni, retired HOD from Bangalore Medical college and Adi Chunchanagiri medical college and Dr. Indira C Reddy, Senior Consultant Obstetrician at Sagar Chandramma Hospital.
We had two speakers.
First speaker was Dr. Umadevi C. K, senior Obstetrician Gynecologist, jt. Treasurer, BSOG , and Former HOD, Ramaiah Medical College. She delivered her talk on “Oral Dydrogesterone in IVF cycles”. She explained the different progesterone molecules and the distinct advantages of oral dydrogesterone.
Second speaker Dr. Shantala, visiting consultant Obstetrician Gynecologist, at People Tree Hospital, Bangalore. She spoke on “Role of Oral dydrogesterone in RPL”. She substantiated on her fact that dydrogesterone is a a promising molecule by various trials.
Chairpersons thanked the speakers and conducted the Q and A session.
Dr. Thejavathy thanked the faculty.
This was followed by a brief talk by Emcure Pharma about the dydrogesterone molecule.
The program was concluded by Dr. Rekha Rajendrakumar, Hon. Secretary, by delivering vote of thanks.

Bangalore Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in association with KSOGA ( Karnataka State Obstetricians and Gynecological Association) conducted a medicolegal webinar from 5 pm to 7 pm on 25th August, 2020. Close to 300 participants had logged in.
KSOGA President Dr. Shobhana Patted and BSOG President , Dr. Thejavathy welcomed all for this clinically important session.
Guests of Honour were Dr. Kamini A Rao and Dr. Pratapkumar. Dr. Shobhana Patted and Dr. Thejavathy introduced and invited Dr. Kamini A Rao and Dr. Pratapkumar respectively for the scientific session. Expert and sole speaker for the day was Dr. Geetendra Sharma, Past President of Ahmedabad Ob Gyn Society and Medicolegal consultant.
The webinar was moderated by Dr. Shobhana Patted, Dr. Thejavathy G V, KSOGA Hon. Secretary, Dr. Kasthuri Donimath and BSOG Hon. Secretary, Dr. Rekha Rajendrakumar.
All 20 societies of KSOGA were involved in the scientific session. The 4 moderators took charge of moderating 5 societies each and thus question answer interactive session was conducted. President and Secretary of each society asked about 2 to 3 questions on the medicolegal aspects of the most important and relevant topics of our day today ob gyn practice. Dr. Geetendra Sharma answered all the questions by his suitable descriptive responses and useful practical points.
The topics were distributed and thus covered as below.
The program was practically very useful with lots of carry home points. It was immensely appreciated by one and all. This was followed by Q and A session of participants. Dr. Vidya Thobbi, treasurer KSOGA, ended the program by her vote of thanks. This webinar was supported by Shield pharma.
The webinar was attended by 140 members. It had 2 sessions, the first session consisted of two talks and second session was a panel discussion.
The first session was chaired by Dr. Shobhana Patted, President of KSOGA and Dr. Vatsala Kamath, President of Mangalore OBG Society. The guests of the honour for the webinar were the Dr. Kamini Rao and Dr. Hema Divakar.
The first talk was by Dr. Thejavathy, President of BSOG on a very common problem in pregnancy. The topic was “ Doxylemine in morning sickness- How effective” She briefed about various drugs used in the treatment of morning sickness, their safety and the current evidence based recommendation which was very informative to all. The second talk was by Dr. Tarini Taneja about something new, ie., “ Ovarian rejuvenation.” It was a interesting talk and appreciated by all. She said it was subject of future research and needs more studies. This was followed by expert comments by guests of honour and the chairpersons of the session.
The second session was a panel discussion on ‘Save the Uterus” moderated by Dr. Sundari N and Dr. Latha Venkataram. The panellists were from BSOG and other societies of Karnataka. Dr. Muralidhar Pai, Dr. B Ramesh, Dr. Lakshmi Pavana, Dr. Madhu, Dr. Sumaiya Firdose and Dr. Shanthala. The case scenario were well framed. It was very interactive session with lots of inputs from panellists. The entire program was appreciated by all and the program concluded with vote of thanks from Dr. Mahesh Koregol.

Dr. Ratnabai Morey Memorial Day, (BSOG day) was celebrated by BSOG on 14th August, 2020. As every year the young talent B J Lingegowda award”was conducted and Prof. L. Krishna and Dr. Jaya Narendra chaired the session. Dr. Shashikala Patil, deliberated on the topic of “Balloon Tamponade”.
Dr. Vasan S S, was invited speaker of the day, who spoke on “Male infertility”. This was followed by talk on “Obesity and Infertility, is there a link?” by Dr. Mahesh Koregol. It was an interactive session with lots of exchange of knowledge.
Dr. Ratnabai Morey Memorial Day & BSOG Day was celebrated, Dr. Thejavathy, congratulated thanked all the past presidents for their glorious year and contribution to BSOG. The celebertion started with guest lecture by Dr. Thimmappa Hegde, neurosurgeon of Narayana Hospitals, on “Understanding and coping with stress” It was very valuable talk especially in the current scenario.
Following his talk, was the star event of the day ”Hasya sanje” (Evening with humour), by renowned stand-up comedian Mrs. Sudha Baragur for about an hour. The program was attended by 214 delegates. Members appreciated the unique way of organising the program and making it memorable.
