Indian Academy of Pediatrics Bangalore and Karnataka in association with Bangalore Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology, conducted a seminar and celebrated the International Women's day between 7.30 pm to 9.20 pm on 10th March 2021.
Dr. Priya Shivalli, Secretary, Bangalore chapter, conducted the event. Dr. Mallikarjuna H B, President, Bangalore chapter and Dr. Amreesh Patil, Secretary, Karnataka chapter were also present along with many dignitaries from paediatrics and Ob Gyn specialities.
There were 3 talks in the webinar.
First talk was by Dr. Sundari N, retired professor, M S Ramaiah medical college, who spoke on "gynaecological cancer screening".
Second talk was by Dr. Sheela Mane, past president of BSOg and FOGSI, who delivered her talk on "nutrition for women to stay healthy".
There was a third talk from pediatric faculty, E C member, IAP, Bangalore, Dr. Sumitha Nayak. Dr. Nayak elaborated on "Cervical cancer prevention by HPV vaccination ". She illustrated different case scenarios.
Each talk was followed by elaborate Q and A session.
At the end, each faculty, and Dr. Thejavathy, President, BSOG and Dr. Rekha Rajendrakumar, Hon. Secretary, BSOG, expressed take home message.
Dr. Amreesh Patil expressed his opinion about how we can we improve on women's health.
Dr. Mallikarjun earnestly requested all to encourage breast feeding and the lactation program training to all obstetricians and gynecologists regarding the same at M S Ramaiah Medical college.
