Bangalore Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology conducted a clinical webinar on Saturday, 17/10/2020, 3 pm to 6 pm.
Dr. Rekha Rajendrakumar, Hon. Secretary, BSOG, welcomed all and moderated the webinar. Webinar had two sessions. First was a talk and second one was panel.
The lecture was on “An update of Immunization in Pregnancy, by Dr. P. Padmaja, former HOD of Bangalore Baptist Hospital. The event was chaired by Dr. Susheela Rani B. S, senior obstetrician and gynaecologist and past-President, BSOG and Dr. Padmini Prasad, President elect, BSOG. This was followed Q and A interaction. Chairpersons expressed their opinions at the end of this talk. The talk was very informative with a lots of interactions.
Panel was moderated by Dr. Thejavathy, President, BSOG and Dr. Shubha Rama Rao, Vice President, BSOG. Panel consisted of 6 panellists, selected mostly as faculties from various medical colleges. Panellists were Dr. Shirley George, Dr. Nandini, Dr. Padmashri, Dr. Ashakiran Ratod, Dr. Shailaja and Dr. Revathi Rajan. Topic of the panel was “Intrauterine viral infections – Preventable strategies and management”. Almost all the infections like Dengue, H1N1, Varicella zoster, Herpes Zoster were covered with valuable inputs from all the panelists. Also, rare infections like parvovirus was discussed. Present pandemic infection of Corona was discussed at length. The panel was interesting with practical tips about how to diagnose and manage in clinical practice.
We had about 150 audience and all were highly interactive.
